We practice at Roberts Middle School in the gym for now.  When we are able to go outside, we will practice on the field

HOW DO ATHLETES GET TO PRACTICE?

  • ELMS students are shuttled to Roberts from Clary at about 3 pm.  You will get ready at your home school.
  • Danforth students are shuttled to Roberts from Danforth - time TBA.
  • Roberts students will go to the gym and meet one of the coaches there.

HOW DO ATHLETES GET HOME FROM PRACTICE

  • Students may take a bus back to Clary or Danforth and parents may pick them up at those schools about 5:30.
  • Parents may pick up the students at Roberts by 5:15 pm. Roberts students can be picked up or walk home.
  • Students will be picked up from the back parking lot of Roberts, not the front of the school.
  • This is so I can be sure everyone has secured a way home.   Coches not leave until all students have left.
Please pick up your athletes on time
    COACHES CANNOT TAKE PLAYERS HOME.

WHAT TO WEAR TO PRACTICE?
Indoor practices – sneakers, shorts, athletic pants, shirt, or sweatshirt
Outdoor practices – spikes, shorts or athletic pants, shirt, sweatshirt (No street clothes)

HOW DO ATHLETES GET TO GAMES?
AWAY GAMES - district provides transportation to and from away games. The bus will return to Roberts School and you can meet your athlete there. The bus will also stop at Clary and Danforth as needed. Students must ride the bus to and from games.
HOME GAMES - Athletes are transported to Roberts just like they would for a practice. Parents will pick up athletes at Roberts Middle School after home games.  There is not transportation to the other schools after home games.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU NEED?

Glove – if you don’t have one, do not buy one yet.  Either borrow one from a relative or we may have one that you can borrow. Make sure you like the sport and that you made the team before purchasing a glove.  Eventually, you will need to have your own glove fitted to you.    Do not buy youth gloves -- they are too small for the ball.   12" or 12.5" are good.

Softball Cleats – not mandatory, but once you are on the team, you should get a pair of molded "pastic" softball cleats.
no metal.  Uniforms – uniforms are provided by district.  Visors—We may be getting team visor or hats. You may purchase or wear your own BLACK softball pants if you want.

Batting Helmet
- We highly recommend you purchase
your athlete their own personal batting helmet with
face mask
that only they will use.  Sample Helmet - CLICK HERE
It must have the NOCSAE emblem embossed on helmet - see far right.

Equipment Bag - a good size duffle bag is a good idea for glove, cleats, and helmet.
Athletes need to be responsible for being prepared for practice and games.

JEWELRY – all jewelry must be removed for practice and games -- NO earrings, piercings, necklaces, bracelets, etc.
CELL PHONES – Cell phones may be at practice. However, use is prohibited unless directed by the coach.
INJURIES - Athletes must report all injuries to coach before leaving practice or a game.

OTHER STUFF
Team Hoodies or shirts – This year I would like our team to get either hoodies or long sleeve team shirts.  (this is not a mandatory purchase).
